Somatic Movement invites you to experience more with less moving in a fluid, effortless, and playful way. Through gentle, non-habitual explorations, we awaken curiosity in the body and nervous system. It can feel both fun and a little strange in the best way! Rather than aiming for fixed poses, stretching, or strengthening, Somatic Movement helps the body learn from within and naturally reorganize itself.

By slowing down and practicing small, unusual movements, forgotten or inactive neural pathways come alive again. This process helps release unnecessary muscular tension, restores a sense of wholeness to parts of the body that may feel disconnected, and opens new possibilities for coordination and freedom. In today’s world, where effort and intensity are often overvalued, Somatic Movement feels like medicine: it teaches us to move with ease, less pain, and greater awareness. In a 2-hour introductory workshop, we will explore the foundations of Somatic Movement. Through slow, mindful, and non-habitual movements, participants will discover new possibilities of coordination, release unnecessary muscular tension, and reconnect with their body in a fresh way.

Deniz Tosun is a yoga teacher, somatic movement facilitator, and Human Design analyst. She has been practicing yoga and somatic movement for over 12 years and teaching for 9 years. Her approach combines body awareness, breath, and mindful movement with insights from Human Design, supporting people to release tension, reconnect with themselves, and live in alignment with their unique nature. Deniz completed her foundational RYT 200 yoga teacher training and later deepened her studies in Yoga Therapy, Yin Yoga, Psoas and Core Awareness, Kids and Parent Yoga, Axis Syllabus Restorative Movement, and Organic Intelligence (Somatic Experiencing). She continues to share somatic classes, yoga classes, and one-to-one Human Design sessions, creating a safe and explorative space for growth and transformation.
